We came up with this concoction when looking for a cocktail to have for World Gin Day which is June 13th. We always love to put our stamp on cocktails and see what we can add to make it even more fun and delicious and this one did just that!
The classic Bee’s Knees consists of gin, honey syrup and lemon. We were trying to think of what we could add to pump it up and since we have been so into Rose Liqueur lately, and bees love roses (we think!) we figured, why not! It turned out to be the perfect combo of sweet, sour and floral…perfection!
Rosey Bombay Bee’s Knees
Serves 1
Prep time: 2 minutes
Ingredients:
– 2 oz Bombay Sapphire Gin (you could use any gin for this, but we love this gin for its versatility and depth of flavor that plays nicely with the Rose. It has that classic gin flavor but isn’t overbearing.)
– 1/2 oz Honey Syrup (mix together equal parts honey and water)
– 3/4 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
– 1 oz Rose Liqueur
– Splash of tonic water
Instructions:
Put all ingredients except tonic into a shaker and shake with ice. Pour into rocks glass if you don’t have cute little bee glasses like we have! Top with a splash of tonic water. Garnish with lemon wheel.
